The 4th floor also includes the Media Services Desk which provides assistance to students using resources in the various library media formats.

The 4th floor is also home to RU's Technology in Learning Center, which works with faculty, staff and students to support the effective use of technology to improve teaching and learning.

3rd Level - This is the main floor or entry floor of the library. This floor Includes circulating books in the Main Collection with LC call numbers PS through Z. This floor is also home to the Reference Collection, which includes encyclopedias, almanacs, dictionaries, directories, handbooks, indexes, statistical sources, and other resources. Reference books are generally "consulted" rather than "read" and do not circulate. In addition, there are several other smaller, specialized collections including a Popular Reading Collection on this floor.

The McConnell Library Reference Desk is also located on this floor. The Reference Desk is where you can go to ask questions about the library and library resources or to get assistance in finding or using any of the library resources. You'll also find the Circulation Desk on this floor, and that's where you check out most library materials and reserve items.

The library has two classrooms. Classroom A (Room 350) is around the corner from the Reference Desk. Classroom B (Room 380) is at the back of the building, left of the restrooms and elevator. Sometimes your professor may have your class meet in one of these two classrooms to learn about library resources for an assignment or project. When it is not being used for instruction, Classroom A is open to students wishing to use Microsoft Office and course software.
