McConnell Library loan periods are determined by the items you borrow. To determine the loan period for a particular item type, please see the list below:

| Main collection books and CD ROMs | 4 weeks (students and Public Patrons); 6 months (faculty and staff) |
| Popular reading books | 2 weeks |
| Videos, DVDs, Compact Discs & Kits | 1 week |
| Media equipment | 3 days |
| Reserves items | 2 hours, 1 day, 3 days or 7 days (varies) |
