GRAPURCHAT
The Grapurchat was the
first school newspaper published from 1921 until 1978 when it changed
names to the Tartan. "The first two syllables of the
word Grapurchat are formed from the colors of the Normal School,
[as Radford University was then called], GRAy
and PURple.
CHAT makes
a very appropriate ending." (Volume
1 no. 1 p. 1 January 27, 1921).

of most issues of the Grapurchat including some that were
lost and have not been preserved in our bound copies of the Grapurchat
