M'Ledge Moffett
Richard's Fireside Club
| The first departmental club on Radford's campus was named after Mrs. Ellen H. Richards, founder of the Home Economics movement in the United States and its members were Home Economics majors. The club, organized by Moffett, was primarily intended to emphasize the social life of the students. The club usually met in the Heth House and, "it was customary for the members to hold their meetings around the grate in the library room of this building." However, this picture was taken in the home of Mr. and Mrs. C.C. Brown of East Radford. Dean Moffett is reading Edna Ferber's novel So Big. |
