Web Sites

Biographies of Women Mathematician - comprehensive compilation of information on women mathematicians, past and present.   Biographies include an explanation of their mathematical accomplishments, photographs, references, and links to other related Web sites.  Site is maintained by the mathematics department at Agnes Scott College, Atlanta, GA.

The Chaos Hypertextbook for "people who enjoy math as a diversion .... Chaos, fractals, and the related topic of dimension are really not that difficult ..." !

Dave's Math Tables - Site is divided into three areas: 1) Math Reference Tables includes tables ranging from basic multiplication and addition tables to the advanced algebraic identities, geometric object formulas, trigonometric graphs and identities and integrals; 2) a newer Interactive Area offers a Math Message Board and Math White Board (for real-time, collaborative teaching and tutoring); and 3) a Resources area with links to other math resources and sites.  Site is hosted by Scientific Instrument Services, Inc.

Internet Resources for the Mathematics Student - Created by the Mathematics and Statistics Department at Langara College, British Columbia, this site contains a wealth of resources and links to topics appropriate for college students taking the first two years of mathematics -- precalculus, calculus, differential equations, discrete math, linear algebra, statistics, etc.

Interactive Mathematics Miscellany and Puzzles - Site presents mathematical games and puzzles, as well as a glossary of mathematical terms, a list of books on various topics in recreational mathematics, and links to other mathematically oriented web sites.  Look for the CTK Exchange, where visitors can post questions and discuss answers. Site is maintained by Alexander Bogomolny, former professor of mathematics at the University of Iowa.

MacTutor History of Mathematics archive -  an integrated collection of over 1000 biographies and historical articles of a mathematical nature, alongside interactive birthplace maps and the famous curve applet. Site maintained by the University of St. Andrews in Scotland.
