Many of McConnell Library's resources are restricted to current faculty and students. You'll be prompted for your RU username and password to use these. To set up your RU username and password you need to activate your e-mail account.

You may prefer to use an email system other than the one provided by Radford University. If so, it is important to forward your Radford University email to your preferred account so that you do not miss important University notices and information such as library overdue notices, course schedules, class-related e-mail, etc.

• Activate your account (if you have not already done this):

  • From https://www.portal.radford.edu/ 
  • Click on "Account Activation (New Users)" under "User Account Tools"
  • Login with your first name, last name, and 6-digit RU ID number.
  • Follow instructions to get your RU username and to create a new password. 



• Forward e-mail:

  • From https://www.portal.radford.edu/ 
  • Click on "Forward your email"
  • Click on "Web-based form to update your forwarding address".  
  • Follow instructions.
